Welcome to the second round of our host Spacebooger's latest bout, Friday Night Fights: Power Punch. This bout has one new rule to it: Each round must feature a KO punch. And tonight, I'm providing this bit of gridiron glory from Amazing Spider-Man#153 by Len Wein, Ross Andru, and Mike Esposito.

Synopsis: Dr. Bradley Bolton, former Empire State University star quarterback and currently a top computer scientist, has a problem: His daughter has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom by some criminals led by a man named Paine, who demands the good doctor hand him a valuable computer component in exchange for Bolton's daughter's return. The meet goes as planned in ESU Stadium until Paine pulls a last-second double-cross which Bolton does not take well.

And off Dr. Bolton goes.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man, having shadowed Bolton earlier, suddenly arrives at the stadium only to find...

So Spidey has cornered Paine and is about to inflict some of the man's namesake on him when...

Tonight's fight music for this round of pigskin power punching is this selection from Queen.

FNF Prize Fight: Not Quite Alive And Kicking!

Welcome to Spacebooger's special Prize Fight round, titled "FNF: Karate Kicks", where the special rule our host has given us is: Every fight should have multiple kicks resulting in a KO!

You want multiple kicks, Fred? I'll give you multiple kicks, courtesy of this entry from Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu#24, written by Chris Claremont and beautifully illustrated by Rudy Nebres.

Synopsis: Danny Rand aka Iron Fist has journeyed to Hell to save the life and soul of the woman he loves, Jade, from the clutches of the evil Dhasha-Khan, who plans to use it to remake our world. The fight has taken them back to New York City. Unfortunately for Danny, he's already been killed and, as a result..... a mere ghost of his former self.

How does Danny extricate himself and Jade from this predicament? By figuring out a special feature of the power that gives him his superhero codename.

Ok, that was technically multiple kicks, but I'm not stopping until the KO.

And here comes the KO.

Well, in this case "KO" is short for "Killing Off". But it still counts.

Tonight's prize fight music is by INXS.
