Other famous branches on the family tree

Terra-Man ain't the only famous relative in the old Manning family. I've got a lot of kin who are also famous in the sports and entertainment worlds. Sadly, I don't get to see these relations as often as I'd like. (Dadburned restrainin' orders!!)

First off, there are the famous football-playin' brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, who are the quarterbacks for the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants, respectively. Like their dad Archie, also a quarterback, Peyton and Eli have inherited the superb Manning aim, which can come in handy either in football or when your arch-enemy's got Super-Speed. Recently the brothers did the Manning family proud by winning back-ta-back Super Bowls in '07 and '08.

Next up, there's actress/singer Taryn Manning. She and her brother are in the band Boomkat. She's appeared in episodes of The Practice, Get Real, Boston Public, NYPD Blue and Popular. She recently appeared in Tim Minear's short-lived series Drive, which also featured Nathan Fillion (who'd make a great you-know-who).

Finally, there's singer/keyboardist Roger Joseph Manning, who co-founded the wonderful early 90's band Jellyfish with his brother Chris, Drummer/lead vocalist Andy Sturmer, and Jason Falkner. As you can see in the picture above, Roger's got the ol' Manning fashion sense. He also founded Imperial Drag and TV Eyes. In 2006, he released his first solo album, The Land of Pure Imagination, featuring the song "Too Late For Us Now".
